Do you find it hard to find personalised gifts?
Do you have a unique name?
I know how hard it can be finding something with your name on it. As my name is Coralie & trying to find something with my name on, has been impossible. Especially when we visited anywhere like a seaside town back in the 70's & 80's, when I was little.
Personalised towels is my number 1 favourite product to make. When I first started my business in 2013, personalisation on towels, was not on my radar. However, one of my Cora's Embroidery clients asked me to make some personalised towels for her soon to be sister-in-law. Once I completed her order, I thought - am I missing a trick here?
I realised that I already had the software, so I could add names to designs & that's where it started. I just needed to make some samples to show everyone at the events I went to. This is also where I started to make embroidered face cloths. Face cloths were a fabulous way to showcase designs as I built up my collections.
In a nutshell this is how my journey of personalised towel gifts started. I have loved making every single one and since then, I have completed over 1400 personalised towels!
Hooded Towels
I had been wanting to make hooded towels for some years & 6 years ago it happened, I had a customer that wanted two hooded bath sheets making for her daughters. I was buzzing & went ahead & did more research on what size to make the hoods.
The end result was amazing & I was over the moon with the results.
I cut all the hoods out individually & french seam all the seams so there is no exposed edges of towels.
What else I could Personalise?
Through my journey, I have grown in my skills for personalisation, its not just towels that I personalise. I have personalised aprons, cards, pencil cases, purses & much more. I love making personalised gifts, even more so when its a unique names.
Here are some of the unique names I have personalised:
Pyper, Khloe, Konnar, Ottilie, Viktor & Isobel

Now I'd like to introduce to to 2 other businesses that also love to do personalisation.
Firstly, I'll introduce you to the lovely & very talented Sarah, the owner of Biscuits by Sarah B, who makes wonderful personalised biscuits and much more.
Biscuits by Sarah B

Hi – I’m Sarah B (aka The Biscuit Lady) & I love designing, baking & decorating bespoke biscuits for special occasions. I usually offer a range of options for seasonal gifts, such as Valentine’s, Mother’s Day, Easter, Father’s Day, Thank You Teacher, Hallowe’en & Christmas. From single biscuits, packs of minis to larger Gift Boxes, the great thing about my biscuits is that I can personalise them with wording. Some people choose a name to add to one biscuit & others go for different names on each so they can use them as little edible treats at family meet ups. Christmas is a great example of this, as my cute snowmen can be gifted to children or my stylish cracker biscuits make fantastic place names for the Christmas Day table.
I also provide biscuits for many couples for their wedding days. Popular choices include my bride & groom hearts & plaque shaped biscuits with wildflowers painted or piped on. I love receiving more unusual requests such as silver spanners & sausage dogs! The great thing about biscuits is that they double as wedding favours and place names.

Personalised biscuits make a fantastic alternative to the ‘party bag’. A lot of my customers are organising children’s (or indeed adult’s) parties & love ordering my biscuits that can fit beautifully with their party theme plus put a huge smile on guests’ faces as they see their name on their biscuit!
I’m lucky enough to work from my very own Cookie Shack at the bottom of my garden in Pokesdown, Bournemouth. You can find me there, mindfully decorating biscuits for customers or even sharing my royal icing skills as I offer a range of classes & parties.

I’m also on Facebook, Instagram or alternatively email me your biscuity requests: biscuitsbysarahb@gmail.com

Carriegraphy
Hi! I’m Carrie from Carriegraphy & I’m a calligrapher.
I started learning calligraphy & hand lettering nearly 8 years ago after having my first baby & wanting to create an income for our family.
I specialise in personalisation. Having given my daughter a name which never comes up on the named gifts you can buy from shops, & also having a name that’s not catered for either, it made me realise there must be lots of people like us out there!
The business started with making chalkboard style baby celebration pictures, which I still do today. These days I personalise onto all sorts of materials - notebooks, make up bags, ceramics, mirror acrylic, keyrings, & anything else I can get my hands on! I’ve purchased a lot of kit for my business too - a vinyl cutter, a sublimation printer, a mug press, a foiling printer & heater & most recently, a laser engraver.
Personalisation is the best bit about my business - to get something with your name on is the coolest thing ever & gives all the feels. Being able to write peoples names using my own calligraphy & add my calligraphy to loads of different surfaces is incredible & something I really really enjoy doing too.
You can find my over on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

Do you have a unique name? If you do please let me know in the comments section at the bottom of this blog.
Much Creative Love Coralie
